The Downtown Sprinkler Grant supports the redevelopment of Enid’s historic downtown buildings by helping offset the cost of installing fire suppression infrastructure required for commercial occupancy. Eligible property owners may receive reimbursement for exterior fire line installation, up to $30,000.

What Can the Grant be used for?

  • Installation of a new exterior fire suppression line
  • Safety upgrades required for redevelopment and occupancy
  • Improvements that prepare historic properties for commercial use

Who Qualifies?

To be eligible, properties must:

  • Be located within the Main Street Enid district
    (between the Railroad Track and Adams, and Elm and Owen K. Garriott)

  • Be redeveloped for commercial use

  • Receive ERDA Board approval before installation begins

Application Requirements

  • Submit a completed ERDA funding application

  • Include at least two bids for the installation of the exterior fire line

  • Receive grant approval before beginning work

Reimbursement is paid after installation is complete and a Certificate of Occupancy is issued by the City of Enid.

Important Timeline

  • Grant awards expire 12 months from the award date

  • A 30-day extension may be requested but is not guaranteed
