Despite the trend of many companies outsourcing overseas, PT — previously known as Parrish Manufacturing Group — takes pride in being a fourth-generation, family-owned business rooted in Enid.

PT began its journey in 1951 as a machine shop in a chicken house, originally named Central Machine and Tool Co. In 1955, the late company founder R.C. Parrish began manufacturing cam and groove couplings, which brought recognition to him and Enid. Today, PT stands as the sole manufacturer of cam and groove couplings that are entirely made in the USA.

After several acquisitions, PT boasts multiple locations across the country, providing high-quality products for industries such as agriculture, chemical processing, construction, sanitation, oil and gas, mining, steel, transportation, government, and railroads on a global scale.

“One of the things that has kept us (in Enid) is the quality of life that is here, the quality of the team members we’ve been able to train while we’ve been here. Enid is a great place to grow up and raise a family,” said James R. Parrish, former CEO and son of R.C. Parrish.

James’ son and PT’s current CEO and president, Matt Parrish, concurred.

PT has a workforce of nearly 300 people spread across its various product lines in six locations, with four of those based in Enid. Matt noted that 70+ employees have been with PT for over two decades.

“We’re proud of our employees,” Matt said, adding that even a few of them have been loyal to the Parrish family since the 1960s.

“This legacy is very important to me,” James said. “I’ve had offers for years to sell the company. It’s important that we have our family here, and it’s important for our community that we’ve maintained the level of employment that we have.”

The legacy of the family business is rare these days. We’re happy to keep it going because we believe in community, too.”  — Company President Matt Parrish, shown with CEO Jim Parrish and Vice President of Corporate Communications Amy Parrish
