Before settling in Enid, Weber Player lived in the Vail Valley of Colorado and near Asheville, N.C. “For me, Enid has proven to be every bit the place for economic opportunities and personal and professional growth as any of the three,” he says.

His wife Molly, an interior designer, is an Enid native. They decided to make Enid their permanent home in 2010 when Weber was presented with the opportunity to take over her father’s business, Dense Mechanical, a commercial heating, cooling, piping and plumbing company that dates back to the 1950s. Weber has since applied his business administration background and past work experience toward expanding and diversifying into residential services.

“Even though I’m not from here originally, I’ve been received with open arms and presented with many opportunities for community involvement, for mentorship and for working with great customers who also became friends,” he says.Volunteering to serve on local boards deepened Weber’s appreciation of the community’s unique assets. He cites Autry Technology Center, which helps fuel his company’s success by providing his employees with risk management and safety training as well as required licensing and certification.

Vance Air Force Base not only hires his company to do mechanical projects, but also brings the world to his doorstep. “My wife and I are involved in a community program that sponsors each incoming class of airmen and women,” he says. “It’s been fun hosting them at our home for cookouts and getting to know them on a personal basis.”

“In Enid, it’s easy to feel a sense of belonging. My wife and I, our two children and our employees have all had wonderful opportunities to get involved and develop our leadership abilities.” — Weber Player
