ENID, Okla. — A longtime Enid business has used a grant from Enid Regional Development Alliance to expand its capabilities.

A.W. Brueggemann Co. received the reimbursable equipment grant to support the growth and modernization of its manufacturing business, 412 N. Independence.

Owners/managers are Andrea Freeman, Chris Freeman and Greg Pekrul.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the Enid Regional Development Alliance for their support,” Chris Freeman said. “This investment allows us to better serve our customers, create new job opportunities and continue building on A.W. Brueggemann’s nearly 100-year legacy in Enid.”

The grant from ERDA helped Brueggemann with the purchase of a Brother CNC Tapping Machine and additional tooling. The state-of-the-art machine is equipped with an automatic pallet changer, increasing production efficiency by reducing downtime and enabling seamless transitions between production runs.

Pekrul said the machine increases automation, allowing the operator to change parts while the machine is running so there is less downtime.

With the machine expected to be fully operational soon, the company plans to hire an additional skilled employee to support the increased capacity.

“Supporting long-standing, high-quality employers like A.W. Brueggemann is a key part of our mission at ERDA,” said Marcie Mack, ERDA executive director. “The Freemans’ investment in advanced manufacturing equipment not only strengthens their operations, but it also contributes to the broader economic vitality of Enid. We’re proud to be a partner in their continued success.”

Founded in 1928 by Art Brueggemann, the A.W. Brueggemann Co. has delivered precision-machined solutions tailored to customers’ needs. Since acquiring the business in October 2022, the Freemans have carried on this tradition.
