Oklahoma accounting firm Wymer Brownlee Wealth Strategies recently was named one of the best to work for in the country, in an annual list by the trade publication Accounting Today.

“The firms on this list represent the best workplaces in the accounting profession,” said Accounting Today Editor-in-Chief Daniel Hood. “They are outstanding places to build a career.”

Only the top 100 firms in the U.S. make the list, a release from Wymer Brownlee said, which “recognizes companies who have excelled in creating quality workplaces for employees.”

A two-part survey is used to determine the list, the release said. The first is an employee experience questionnaire, and counts for 75 percent of the firm’s total score. A “formal review of policies, practices, systems and demographics” make up the second part, weighted at 25 percent.

Established in 1969, Wymer Brownlee has grown to six offices around the state: Fairview, Enid, Perry, Bartlesville, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, according to the company’s website.

The firm’s tax and accounting team, half of the Wymer Brownlee work force, operate at all six locations, the release said. The other half are wealth advisers and business consultants, “ranging from human resources and legal professionals to marketing and information technology.”

“Our people are what make Wymer Brownlee such a special place to work,” Wymer Brownlee CEO Kyle Brownlee said. “The talent in this company is the best it has ever been, but the fact that our team members understand and live our core values, believe in the mission and support each other like family is why the firm is thriving 50 years after we were founded, in my opinion.”
