Billy Sims Barbecue opened recently in Enid, the restaurant chain’s third location to open in Oklahoma this year.  The location in Neilson Square, 3518 W. Garriott, will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.  “Oklahoma is our home base and we’ve had our eye on opening in Enid for a long time,” said Billy Sims Barbecue President Jeff Jackson. “Oklahomans have come to love Billy Sims Barbecue and we are excited to join the Enid community.”

The restaurant’s menu includes nine meats and features ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken, turkey and bologna.  The Enid location will seat about 52, allowing people the option of dining in or taking out. Billy Sims Barbecue began in 2004 when retired professional football player and University of Oklahoma star Sims teamed up with Jackson to create the franchise. The first location was opened in Tulsa. Enid is the Billy Sims 47th location. The grand opening is set for noon to 6 p.m. Dec. 6 with an appearance by Sims, a Heisman Trophy winner and former Sooner and Detroit Lion.
